Hyper-pigmentation is a skin imperfection due to an excessive production of melanin.

Melanin is a natural pigment that can be found in skin, hair and iris of the eye. Its main function is to provide protection against the harmful effects of ultraviolet (UV) sunlight.

Melanogenesis is the process of melanin synthesis. Melanin is produced from tyrosine, through the enzymatic action of tyrosinase. Pigmentation is depending on epidermal melanocytes quantities and on the activation of tyrosinase through UV rays.

Hyper-pigmentation is the alteration of this physiological balance. It is due to either an excess of melanin production or to its uneven distribution in the skin. It causes spots in the most exposed areas of the body and they can be of various sizes and darkness.

Male and female intimate pigmentation or hyper-pigmentation is generally innate. Due to a greater concentration of blood vessels and hair bulb, intimate areas around the anus and the reproductive sexual organs appear darker than the surrounding areas. This this is true for all healthy adult individual regardless its geographic origin.

On the other hand, non-physiological hyper-pigmentation may occur in these areas due to:

• Chrono-aging;
• Hormonal imbalances;
• Inflammatory traumas (recurrent depilation, clothes rubbing, etc.)

SECRET PEEL: is a solution to treat skin hyper-pigmentation of the anus, of the male and female external genitals, groin and armpits. Rich in specific active ingredients, such as Thioglycolic Acid, Mandelic Acid, Phytic Acid and natural antioxidants, it gently performs:

The product improves pigmentation in treated areas reducing diffused and localized dyschromia and increasing tissues tone.

Ingredienti/Ingredients: Propylene Glycol, Thioglycolic acid, Phytic acid, Ribes nigrum Leaf Extract, Vaccinium Myrtillus fruit extract, Polysorbate 20, Hexylresorcinol, Caprylic acid, Isopropyl alcohol, PEG-400, Caproic acid, Capric acid.

Thioglycolic acid: due to its chelating activity, it stabilizes the iron existing from haemosiderin accumulation in localized dyschromia, inducing a significant attenuation of  spots visibility.

Phytic Acid: a natural herbal product, with both acidic and antioxidant properties.  Due its nature, it performs a dual function: 1) as chelator interfering in the production of melanocytes, it helps in lightening the skin; 2) as antioxidant performing a regenerating anti-aging action.

Hexyl-Resorcinol: interfering with melanin synthesis during the melanogenesis process, it inhibits and degrades the tyrosinase enzyme performing a significant lightening action.

Extracts of Blueberry and Ribes: are powerful antioxidants that inactivate free radicals and provide tropism and nutrition to treated skin.
